Aymeric Laporte rescued a draw for Manchester City against newly promoted Wolves

The reigning champions were forced to dig deep to rescue a point on a day of mild controversy at Molineux, with Laporte's header in the 69th minute canceling out Willy Boly's opener 12 minutes earlier that went in off his arm.
It appeared Wolves might inflict a first league defeat on the Premier League champions since City's derby defeat to Manchester United in April.
The home side exposed some chinks in City's armor that will offer a glimmer of encouragement to the rest of the Premier League.
Nuno Espirito Santo's men weathered intense City pressure before claiming a surprise lead.
And even though City shared the points thanks to an emphatic header by Laporte, the game threw up rare questions for Guardiola to answer.
Having stormed to the Premier League title last season and started the new campaign in impressive style, life has been plain sailing for much of the past 18 months for Guardiola.
In the absence of the injured Kevin De Bruyne, however, the composure his side so often display in attacking areas was sometimes missing at Molineux, although they still created enough chances to see off Wolves comfortably.
Of more concern, perhaps, was the lack of solidity in defense, where Vincent Kompany and Laporte at its heart looked far from assured as a partnership.
With John Stones left on the substitutes' bench, there were signs that Kompany's lack of pace and Laporte's lack of experience could be exposed, although the young Frenchman looked like a seasoned Premier League campaigner when he thundered home the header to give his side a point.

Patricio save

A first half in which Wolves played their part in an entertaining spectacle was still, inevitably, dominated by the reigning champions, who struck the woodwork twice, once with the aid of a fabulous save from Rui Patricio.
The Wolves and Portugal number one threw himself high to his left to claw a long-range effort from Raheem Sterling onto the crossbar on 22 minutes.
That came shortly after Sergio Aguero had struck Patricio's left-hand upright with a snap-shot from a Kyle Walker cross.
That effort came from a break that followed a disallowed goal for Wolves, who had Raul Jimenez flagged offside after he had tapped home a cross-shot by Diogo Jota.
Fernandinho fired narrowly wide for City and Ruben Neves did likewise for Wolves, with Boly making two fine challenges on Aguero as the opening 45 minutes failed to produce a goal.
It was unusual territory for City, who then conceded a 57th-minute goal to add to their frustrations.
Joao Moutinho's delicious cross from the left skimmed the head of Matt Doherty and found Boly, with the ball finding its way into the bottom corner via his arm.
City believed the opener might have been ruled out for either offside or handball and they were further agitated when David Silva was denied a penalty for what he felt was a shove by Doherty.
But they were right back in the game when Ilkay Gundogan delivered a free-kick from the right and Laporte leaped above Boly to head home the equalizer from six yards.
Had a stoppage-time free-kick from Aguero dipped under the crossbar instead of striking it, City would have forgotten their frustrations.

Conte won't be sacked as Chelsea manager for now

Conte's future with the troubled Premier League champions was cast into doubt on Monday after a dismal 4-1 defeat against Watford.
Fourth-placed Chelsea are languishing 19 points behind leaders Manchester City after a turbulent campaign marred by Conte's squabble with his club's hierarchy over their transfer policy.
Blues owner Abramovich has never been shy about wielding the axe when his managers under-perform and it was suggested the debacle at Vicarage Road, coming hot on the heels of a wretched home loss to Bournemouth, could prompt Conte's dismissal.
But widespread reports in the British media on Tuesday claimed former Juventus and Italy manager Conte is now expected to remain in charge for Monday's game against West Bromwich Albion.

While there were meetings between various Chelsea board members on Tuesday, it is understood they were non-football related, over other corporate and commercial issues, with the future of the manager not on the agenda.
Former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is among the big names who have been linked with the Chelsea job, but Conte is said to be refusing to contemplate resigning after less than two years in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The Italian is believed to have irritated his squad with his demanding training schedule and intense personality.
And Conte has now given Chelsea's players three days off to recover after the Watford defeat.
Having publicly complained about Chelsea's failure to land his top transfer targets this season, Conte risked angering Abramovich last week when he questioned why the club hadn't given him a vote of confidence amid speculation over his future.
Chelsea backed their manager, who still has 18 months of his contract to run, during the January transfer window by bringing in defender Emerson Palmieri from Roma and France forward Olivier Giroud from Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Gary Cahill admits the squad needs to be held accountable for the performance against Watford.
"Whatever is decided, the players have to take responsibility. The manager has done an absolutely unbelievable job," Cahill told the London Evening Standard.
"This is the worst I've felt for quite a while. Performance-wise, I didn't recognize us or myself.
"It was abysmal. It hurts a lot when you come off after a performance like that.

Cristiano Ronaldo faces 12-match ban after red card

Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, could be suspended for up to 12 matches after referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea included the Real Madrid star’s shove in his match report.
Ronaldo was shown a second yellow card for what Bengoetxea deemed to be a dive inside the penalty area.
He had booked the Portugal captain moments earlier after he ripped off his shirt when he made it 2-1 with a stunning drive.

After he was shown the red card, the 32-year-old momentarily lost his cool and shoved the referee.
Bengoetxea included the altercation in his post-game match report, writing: “Player: Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro. Once the red card was shown, the player pushed me slightly in a sign of disagreement.”
The shove could trigger a ban of up to 12 matches under Article 96 of the Spanish federation’s rule book, which deals with “Slight violence towards referees”.
Article 96 applies to players who “grab, push or shake” a referee in a manner that is “slightly violent”, and recommends a suspension of 4-12 matches for the action.
Ronaldo’s fate is now in the hands of the Spanish federation’s competition committee, who will decide how many games he would be banned for, in addition to the one-game ban from his red card.

Diego Costa demands loyalty bonus from Chelsea before leaving

Chelsea has been rocked by a demand for a loyalty bonus from Diego Costa.
Costa claims he is entitled to the payment, as he is being forced out by manager Antonio Conte.
It is believed that the bonus demand, forms part of his legal case against the Stamford Bridge outfit.
It also comes despite the Spain striker openly admitting last season, that he wanted to rejoin his former club, Atletico Madrid, only to have his exit vetoed by Conte.
Speaking in the Spanish media, the £140,000-a-week star said last August: “Everybody knows there was a possibility of going back to Atletico but it didn’t happen because of a few details.
“Now I’m at Chelsea, I’m happy there and I’ve started the season with them. I hope Atletico do well this season like last year and win titles. I wanted to go back, I won’t lie about it.”

Things you dont know about asthma

Image result for asthma patient
When someone with asthma has trouble breathing, there’s standard medical advice they are usually given to help restore proper breathing. And that advice is wrong, dead wrong.
Research at Southern Methodist University (SMU), Dallas, shows that although folks suffering an asthma attack are often told take deep breaths, those deep inhalations are the worst thing they can do for their asthma. Instead, the researchers found that using biofeedback along with shallow breaths improves their long-term lung health.
The study also shows that this technique can help asthma sufferers reduce their use of emergency medicines like rescue inhalers.
People having an asthma attack usually resort to gulping air and struggling to take deep breaths to offset the scary feeling of being suffocated. Plus, they often breathe too deeply at other times even when their asthma isn’t frightening them. All of these actions make the problem worse, say the SMU researchers.
“This study goes to the heart of hyperventilation — which is deep, rapid breathing that causes a drop in CO2 gas in the blood. That makes a person feel dizzy and short of breath,” says researcher Thomas Ritz. “Patients in our study increased CO2 and reduced their symptoms. And over a six-month period we saw in the biofeedback group an actual improvement in the physiology of their lungs.”
Ironically, if you breathe deeply and increase oxygen in your blood, that rise in oxygen boosts your sensation of breathlessness.
“When people hyperventilate, there is something very strange happening,” says researcher Alicia E. Meuret. “In essence they are taking in too much air. But the sensation that they get is shortness of breath, choking, air hunger, as if they’re not getting enough air. It’s almost like a biological system error. “
The imbalance between carbon dioxide and oxygen is the reason that taking deep breaths is the opposite of what someone suffering an asthmatic attack should attempt to do.
“They don’t need any more oxygen,” Meuret says. “But consciously or not, people start to take deeper breaths — and that makes the symptoms worse.”
When the researchers tried out a month-long biofeedback program on 120 people with asthma who were trained to take shallower breaths, asthma symptoms were eased, there was better lung function, air ways were less sensitive and they enjoyed overall better breathing.
The program used in this study is difficult, initially, for people with asthma to undertake.
“It’s actually very, very, very unrelaxing when patients start,” Meuret says.
If a person with asthma already has low CO2 levels in his blood, learning to breathe in a shallow manner slowly to raise CO2 levels — even just a small amount — can set off intense air hunger.
“Only by reassuring themselves that the symptoms are caused by low CO2 and not low oxygen, they can keep on going,” Meuret says. “And that’s even more difficult for asthmatics than anxious patients who have a normal lung function.”
But in the long run, say the researchers, the shallow breathing program offers the best hope for relief.

Barcelona 1 Vs Real Madrid 3 : Ronaldo sent-off after scoring

Real Madrid made light of a red card for Cristiano Ronaldo to deal a further blow to Barcelona by winning 3-1 in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday.

Ronaldo, only introduced as a second-half substitute, was shown two quickfire yellow cards after blasting Madrid into a 2-1 lead with 10 minutes to go.
However, Real extended their advantage with 10 men thanks to a sumptuous late strike from Marco Asensio.
Earlier, Lionel Messi's penalty had canceled out Gerard Pique's own goal as Barca failed to get the early season boost they needed after losing Brazilian star Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain for a world record transfer fee.
The sides will meet again in Madrid for the second-leg on Wednesday.
Without Neymar, Barca struggled to find their rhythm going forward as Gerard Deulofeu failed to impress in the role alongside Messi and Luis Suarez up front.

Suarez had the hosts' best effort of a timid opening half when his driven low volley was collected at the second attempt by Keylor Navas.
At the other end Marc-Andre ter Stegen's only serious save of the first period came when Gareth Bale's effort from Isco's dangerous cross was turned over.
Madrid immediately upped a gear at the start of the second period and was rewarded with the opening goal in a manner that would have delighted most Real fans.
Pique is often Madrid's chief aggravator, but the Spanish international was left embarrassed as he turned Marcelo's delivery past the helpless Ter Stegen into his own net.
Only an incredible goal line clearance from Jordi Alba then prevented Dani Carvajal from doubling Madrid's advantage seconds later as the game began to open up.
Ronaldo had been kept in reserve by Zinedine Zidane having missed most of the pre-season after his participation in the Confederations Cup with Portugal but was finally introduced for an action-packed cameo appearance on the hour mark.
With Mateo Kovacic also replaced by Asensio, Messi was given more license to create and led Barca back into the game as Sergio Busquets somehow blazed over from close range before Messi stung the palms of Keylor Navas.

The Argentine eventually got on the scoresheet from the penalty spot after Navas was adjudged to have brought down Suarez inside the area 13 minutes from time.
However, Madrid took just three minutes to retake the lead in stunning fashion as Ronaldo cut inside Pique before curling into the top corner.
The World Player of the Year was booked for taking off his shirt in celebration.
And that was to prove very costly just two minutes later when he saw a second yellow card for diving as he went down under a challenge from Samuel Umtiti inside the area.
However, rather than offer Barca route back into the tie, Madrid all but assured they will lift the Super Cup for a 10th time when Asensio blasted into the top corner from the edge of the box as the game entered stoppage time.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday has said that God could not fix Nigeria except Nigerians invite God into their lives collectively and individually.

We have a lot of things wrong with this country if all Nigerians are sincere.
“Nigeria can be fixed by God but we have to invite Him into our lives. What we have to do about this country is in our hands.
“Gods grace abounds when we do not abuse it,” he said.
Obasanjo made this remark during the 2017 Camp Meeting Concert by Apostolic Faith Church Choir and Orchestral at the Camp Ground Igbesa in Ogun.
He also said that Christians should be prepared for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ as the end of the world is near.
He said that as a person, he would like to make to heaven  so as to sing with the angels.
“You have to be fully prepared for the second coming of our Lord, there is no compromise.
“I have a friend who will always say that when we get to heaven that we will be exhausted praising God and it will be like a prison and will be very boring.
“But what I have seen this afternoon by the choir, I will want to go to heaven and join the hosts to sing.
“If this is an example of what praising God in heaven will be, then I want to be part of it. If what I have seen here is an indication of how heaven will be, I will like go to heaven.
“Jesus Christ came to the world to show us the way to salvation and eternal life. We have a good heritage and we have everything to be proud of,” he said.
The District Superintendent, Apostolic Faith, West Africa, Rev. Adebayo Adeniran,  said that only tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and harmonious living amongst Nigerians, irrespective of religious and political differences,  could lead to meaningful development.
He said that all hands must be on deck to build again a virile nation, where love and harmony, forgiveness and peace, equity and prosperity would reign supreme.
Our country’s shoulders will be raised high among the comity of nations. All Nigerians, irrespective of religion, should pray for the resurrection of what our nation has lost.
“Nigerians should remain patient in the face of political and religious intolerance, insecurity and economic hardships. God will make us triumph over all of them,” he said.
He also urged Christians to pray for the country’s leaders to lead the citizens to the fear of God.
We should pray for a fresh outpouring of Holy Spirit on our leaders so that they can lead us alright .We must not trade the unity of our nation.
“Therefore, as a nation, those who have responsibility for our nation should ensure there is true Federation; they must establish trust among the leaders and the led, they must work for the unity of our country, ” he added.

Arsenal 4 Leicester City 3: Olivier Giroud man of the match as Premier League makes spectacular return

Image result for arsenal vs leicester 2017
Peep! Peep! Peeeeeeeeeep! It’s all over and Arsenal has won. On a night the Premier League broke from the traps like a greyhound whose tail is on fire, some inspired substitutions and a huge slice of luck rescued Arsenal from yet another opening day defeat. That was a fantastic game of football.

The Premier League gets off to a flier with a seven-goal thriller and Leicester will go home wondering how they lost. With Arsenal staring down the barrel of defeat after falling 3-2 behind to Jamie Vardy’s second of the night, substitute Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud scored two in as many minutes to win the three points for Arsenal.

Ramsey’s was the crucial goal and it should not have stood - Mesut Ozil handled in the build-up before providing the assist. Arsenal rode their luck and have every right to be pleased with the win, but the woefulness of much of their defending, from an admittedly make-and-do patchwork defense, will give Arsene Wenger plenty to think about. Going forward, however, his team looked sublime at times.

Leicester have every reason to be proud of a fine performance too, but Craig Shakespeare also has work to do with his back four. Spare a thought, too, for Kelechi Iheanacho, whose introduction in the 82nd minute happened to coincide with the Leicester collapse.

Arsenal is ready to make Alexis Sanchez the highest-paid player in the Premier League, in order to convince the 28-year-old to stay at the club.
Mail Online reports that the improved offer will see Sanchez earn £300,000-a-week at the Emirates if he puts pen to paper.
The Gunners have seen the Chilean enter the final year of his current contract, sparking interest from Premier League rivals Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has revealed that Sanchez will miss their first two Premier League fixtures of this season.
Sanchez has an abdominal strain and Wenger says he is likely to be “out for a while”, ruling him out for the first two games against Leicester City this Friday and Stoke next week.
However, the Frenchman insists Sanchez remains “focused” on playing for the Gunners this season amid continued speculation about his future.

Niger Delta Agitators has called on Northerners and Yorubas living in the Niger Delta to leave the region before October 1, 2017.

Image result for niger delta militants

A militant group known as the Niger Delta Agitators has called on Northerners and Yorubas living in the Niger Delta to leave the region before October 1, 2017.

The militants also announced that they will resume attacks on crude-oil facilities in the oil rich region.
The group also condemned the recent meeting between some elders from the Niger-Delta and Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, describing it as a plan to deceive the people.
According to Daily Post, the militants issued a statement saying: “After hours of careful deliberations, we unanimously resolved as follows: To commence operation zero oil in the Niger Delta from September 10, 2017, as a preparation for the actualisation of Niger Delta Republic.
“We totally condemn the recent meeting between PANDEF and the Acting President; we see it as another plot to deceive the Niger Delta people. First and foremost, the meeting was marred by the inordinate greed of the PANDEF as they did not involve the representatives of the agitating groups and youth leaders.
“We wish to let the Acting President know that those he met have no capacity and cannot solve the current crisis in the Niger Delta; therefore they cannot represent the militants or speak for the Niger Delta people.
“The Federal Government should hand over all oil blocks owned by the northerners/Yoruba to Niger Delta indigenes. All oil companies operating in such oil blocks/wells should vacate by October 1st, 2017.
“All the multinational oil, gas, servicing and marine companies must relocate their operational base to the Niger Delta, sign a new memorandum of understanding with Niger Delta people which will include Niger Delta indigenes being paid same salaries with foreigners.
“We demand independence and the sovereign Republic of Niger Delta, all the companies, and businesses owned by the northerners/Yoruba in Niger Delta should be vacated before October 1, 2017.
“We call on all agitating groups to resume attacks/bombings on all oil/gas pipelines, especially the exporting lines across the Niger Delta region from September 10, 2017. This is to ensure zero oil/gas production before October 1, 2017."
The militants had earlier agreed to stop bombing pipelines, following Acting President Yemi Osinbajo’s peace meeting with stakeholders in oil producing states.
