On her Instagram page on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, this is what she wrote about her autobiography and its release.
"I am finally naked, but unashamed. You have been asking me what #rebirth is. Now, you know! I have been counting down, for months, to the release of my book, Rebirth!
"I fought the idea when it was suggested; I did not want to spill my beans for the world to read. Social media celebrity attacks are vicious enough already, why add more fuel to the fire?
"I eventually gave in though. Why? Because I want you to know me. I want you to know I am just like you. I failed, struggled, and faltered like you, but in the end, my story changed in untold ways.
"I shared very personal details; hawking on the streets, suffering sexual abuses, dropping out of school, failing at auditions and more.

I cried a lot while writing this book. I also smiled and laughed. I am sure you would tell me you did the same after reading the book.
"It is my utmost desire that reading Rebirth would be a major turning point in your life. If Juliana Olayode, once a beggar on the streets, could become the celebrated figure she is today, across the world, then you have no excuse to settle for anything short of GREATNESS!
"The book is full of surprising revelations. I promise it would be a worthwhile read."

Starboy has managed to gain acceptance in the far shores of the US ever since his 'One dance' collaboration with Drake.
His popularity among international fans has almost become seamless and he has his refined musical style to thank for that.
He is now in the hierarchy of African stars who have broken off the status of being continental celebrities to gaining recognition on a world stage.
The recent release of his new work "Sounds From the Other Side" which had inputs from the likes of Drake, Chris Brown and Trey Songz has certainly helped cement his rapid rise to fame.
All the tracks on the project are a clear justification of why the singer is highly regarded internationally.
There is really nothing much for him to prove.

“I have no problem with Toyin Aimakhu” – Adeniyi Johnson

Image result for toyin-aimakhu and adeniyi-johnson/
Adeniyi Johnson, The estranged husband of actress Toyin Aimakhu in a new interview with Sunday scoop has revealed he has no issues with the actress.
Read excerpts from his interview:
How did entertainment start for you?
It started for me about two decades ago when I started acting in the church. My first major acting experience was when I was in secondary school and as students, we had to stage a play. But the person that was to play the lead role kept disappointing them as he didn’t bother to attend rehearsals. The teacher in charge of the drama group then said she needed someone else to play the role. A classmate of mine told her that I could do it because I was very funny and troublesome in school. That was how I was invited to take part in the play and I was able to do it well. After that episode, I became the happening guy in school and everybody wanted to associate with me. After I graduated, a friend informed me that some actors were shooting a movie close to where I was residing. I went there and took part in the audition. One of the producers, Ray Alechenu, took an interest in me and he told me to come for training. From there, I started acting in TV series and other productions.
What was the first movie you acted in?
The first Yoruba movie I acted in was Mo ta ka osi danu, and it was shot 11 years ago. It was produced by Lekan Ayinde and he was the one that brought me into the Yoruba movie industry. However, my breakthrough started when I delved into soap operas like Super Story and Family Ties, among others.
Entertainers are known to lead ostentatious lives, how do you avoid being caught in that web?
It’s not like acting isn’t a well-paid job. If it wasn’t, we wouldn’t be here because fame is not enough. The problem is that the expectation of people from actors is very high. But I will never live a fake life to impress anybody, and people who know me can testify to that. Meanwhile, if piracy can be curbed, actors would also fly private jets.
How much does it cost to make a proper movie?
It depends on how large the production is. Some could cost N5m or N10m. However in the industry now, people work more based on friendship and that reduces the cost. If you insist on charging what you think you’re worth, the producer would not be able to pay, because it would be difficult to recoup the money.
Do you belong to any association in the industry?
I belong to practically all the associations including AGN, TAMPAN, among others. I am a strong believer in this cause as I believe that it is only through entertainment that we can change the image of Nigeria for better.
What roles do these associations play in taking care of the welfare of practitioners?
How much is in the purse of the association? Many actors are not faithful with payment of dues and levies, and that’s really the only way the associations can generate funds.
Is there any role you would love to play but haven’t?
I would like to play the role of a deaf and dumb person and speak with sign language.
You usually play the role of a lover boy, is that your character off camera?
It’s a Nigerian thing that when you look good, you would play the role of a lover boy. At a point, I had to tell people that I enjoy playing a lover boy but I can do other things as well. Recently, I have acted as a tout, prisoner, imbecile, and played diverse roles. Now, they don’t cast me as a lover boy alone. Off camera, I love everybody around me and love to put smiles on people’s faces. If that is love, then I’m a lover boy. I love women and you can even make that your headline. Am I supposed to hate them? However, love isn’t necessarily about the opposite sex.
Do you feel pressured to hide your relationship from the public?
What I showcase to the world is my talent and I have the right to my privacy. That is why I don’t talk about my personal life.
What then prompted you to go public about your relationship with Seyi Edun?
I have said all I have to say about that on Instagram where I described her as a good friend and confidante.
What kind of woman do you like?
I like a woman that fears God and is hard-working. It is not about a pretty face and curvy shape; it is more about a woman who can pray together with you.
Does Seyi Edun fit that bill?
Why are you so particular about Seyi Edun? Why don’t you talk about other actresses that I have been linked to in the media? I don’t want to talk about my relationship.
Are you afraid that your relationship would be endangered if the public knows about it?
Don’t people know about Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva? It is only if you want your relationship to be damaged that it will be. It is not necessary to put everything about your relationship out there. Some things are meant to be private.
Are you a spiritual person?
Yes, I am, and people who know me are aware of that. I have been a church boy from way back and I don’t joke with prayers; even Toyin Aimakhu can attest to it. Sometimes on set, I even organize vigils with spiritual colleagues like Woli Arole, Seyi Edun, among others.
Can you still work with Toyin Aimakhu?
Of course! There is no reason I cannot work with her. She is not my enemy and she didn’t kill anyone close to me. I have worked with her severally after our issue and the last time we were together on set was in 2016. We do whatever we have to do and go our separate ways.
You were recently given a car by Funke Akindele’s ex-husband, Kehinde Oloyede. What led to that?
It actually started as a joke. He was celebrating his birthday and he said he would give a car to whoever provides correct answers to some questions he would be asking on social media. I participated in it and I eventually won. I’m enjoying the car now and I am grateful to him.
What can you recall of your childhood?
I was born and brought up in Lagos and I’ve basically lived my whole life there. I wasn’t born with a silver or wooden spoon, but we didn’t have to beg anybody to eat. My childhood was pretty normal. When it was time to be stubborn, I was, and when it was time to read my books, I did.
What did you study in school?
I studied mass communication at the Ibadan Polytechnic. Later on, I went to the Lagos State University to study international relations. I have also undergone some training in acting. It is not really about what I studied in school, it is more about the inherent talent.

Christian marriage of one man, one wife serious threat to procreation says Ali Baba

Popular Nigerian comedian, Ali Baba, has decried the gradual end of Christianity in Nigeria, saying christian marriage of one man, one wife was a serious threat to procreation.
The God-father of Stand-up comedy said Nigeria’s economy has affected the birth rate in most christian homes.
According to him, Christianity would have been extinct if not for single mothers as most christian homes in Nigeria have just a kid or maximum of three kids while Muslim homes have more than one wife, therefore producing so many children.
The comedian wrote on his instagram page @alibabagcfr: “Let me use this opportunity to celebrate family. Not as a unit as the Nuclear family advocate make us believe. But a robust one. Even though a lot of economic realities now make us think twice before having more than 2 kids.
“There is danger in our society that is not being attended to. It’s the gradual and calculated extinction of Christians. It may not have occurred to you but it has to me, severally.
“So the Christian home now has one man one wife. And if owing to unforeseen circumstances, the wife in that Christian home has no child, that is it.
“Then you add the number of people becoming Nuns and Reverend Fathers… That also means, that is it. Then throw into that equation, the consequences of corporate sojourn amongst male and female 9-5 Who are in pursuit of careers. They suddenly realize by age 40+ that they should start a family. And by then, for a few, options are few.

“Then you can add societal stigmatization that make people treat single mothers like they committed a grave sin. So, they are tempted to abort & many do. Then because of mistakes, in D&C process, the procreation center, the womb, is tampered with. There are also those, who decided they don’t want kids at all. Some go to the extent of vasectomy and hysterectomy. And that is that.
“You also have those who say unless they marry a particular person, it’s a no children life for them. Hard choice you might say. Now add outright infertility. Male and female. In our African society, some people can lock down a woman’s womb just because… Now the most dangerous part of the plan as orchestrated is sexual preferences.
“MALE AND MALE, FEMALE AND FEMALE, don’t procreate. That’s that. But on the flip side, a man can marry 4 wives, divorce all 4, marry replacements and continue the process of multiplying the earth. 1 man can blow himself up & take out thousands. Where does that leave us as Christians?

“I Can’t Cook For My Husband If I’m The Breadwinner, And I Can’t Be Submissive If I Contribute” – Actress Ronke Oshodi Oke

Image result for ronke-oshodi-oke
Popular Actress, Ronke Oshodi has set the records straight on roles when it comes to being the breadwinner of the family.
Oshodi said you can’t expect her to stay submissive, take care of the family bills, keep a career and still cook if she is the breadwinner of the family.
The actress made this comments in new interview with Broadway TV, where she talked about the family setting, her children and career.
She argued that a marriage where the woman is the one paying the utility bills, providing the school fees of the children, food and other important things cannot work.
“That is what is trending now and do you know why it is like that? It is because we are exposed. Everyone wants to work. Everyone wants to earn money. Thirty or forty years ago, it was our fathers that were earning money. Ladies don’t really use to go to universities. They were like if I go to a university, no one would marry me again.
“My father used to say that he can never marry a graduate. He used to tell me he cannot marry a nurse. But now, I would bring 50, the man would bring 50 or I would bring 70 the man would bring 30 or he would bring 70, I would bring 30 because we have to work hand in hand. So how do you think we can sustain the marriage. It is not going to work. It is not because we don’t want to really be in our husband’s house or that we are not submissive enough, it is not just going to work.
“I am going to pay the NEPA bill, I would provide foodstuff if you don’t have, I would pay the school fees if you don’t have, I would do some certain things if you don’t have. And then you would now come and expect me to cook for you or come and meet food when you come back home, it is not going to work. It is not just going to work. That is just it. But if you are a man and you are doing everything, absolutely everything, that is when you can have total control of your wife” she said

T.I : Rapper splits from wife, Tameka Harris on live television

T.I and Tameka Harris during the good old days.

T.I has ended his marriage to wife Tameka 'Tiny' Harris on an episode of reality television program, T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle.

The rapper who started dating the Xscape group singer in the year 2000 also revealed that he is quite happy about taken the decision during their conversation on the series.
T.I engages his wife, Tiny in a conversation centred on separation.
"I think you're a phenomenal person. We've had some of the best times of our lives together. And it does not hurt or insult me that at some point you grew to this point and I grew to this point.
"I don't think it's either our fault. So ultimately, ain't nothing else for us to do but split. I think it's better for the kids. We can work together better now," he said.
According to T.I, both he and his wife have outgrown each other over the years, a reason he feels a separation will be ideal.
Tiny on the other hand was not so thrilled about the new development.
She reacted to it with the statement, "It is kind of crazy to think that we won’t be a couple anymore."
It is safe to say that the pair had it coming following accusations of infidelity reportedly directed at T.I by the R&B singer.
According to HipHopDX News, this prompted her to move out of the rapper's apartment to hers.
“For those who don’t understand, Tip had some infidelities with a girl who I hired. And that girl is one of the reasons why I got my own house,”  the online news site quoted.
The rapper also felt she betrayed him by being in the company of someone (believed to be a boxer, Floyd Mayweather) he had a bitter relationship with.

Moji Olaiya: Family reacts to rumour actress was poisoned

The family of late Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya, has dismissed reports that the deceased died of poisoning.

A statement by Moji burial committee quoted the family as saying younger brother of the deceased, Yinka Farinde, who received the autopsy report of the deceased disclosed that poison was not linked to Moji’s death.
The statement signed by Yomi Fabiyi, reads, “The attention of the Burial Committee of Late Moji Olaiya has been drawn to the rumour spreading around that the autopsy carried out on the deceased stated that the late thespian died of poison. It is a total fallacy.
“The family through this committee wish to vehemently state as follows:
“Late Moji Olaiya DID NOT die of poison and the rumour mongers should provide the autopsy report they are quoting from.
“The younger brother of the deceased Femi Olaiya who travelled from UK to Canada and top Nigerian promoter in Canada Mr Yinka Farinde monitored and recieved the details of the autopsy and nothing of poison is in the original autopsy documents with the family.
“Whoever is spreading the rumours is evil and have no respect for the dead. Karma like kinetic energy will locate and find such detractors, using the vulnerability and anonymousity of social media as a channel to perpetrate their motive.
“That we know BREAKING NEWS doesnt wait for no one but it makes more sense for the media and blogger to verify vividly the source of a news item and have documetary evidence or fact in sight before going to press.
“The family finds the rumour disturbing and see it as a deliberate attempt to frustrate the befitting burial they are putting in place for their beloved one.
“The accused women were of help to the deceased in terms of accommodation and so on during her lifetime in the same Canada and one of them has been taking care of the 2-months old child the deceased left behind as we speak. Any envious intentions against their persons should not degenerate to the level of spreading falsehood such as murder against. It is bizarre and appalling

Moji Olaiya: Late actress' body still in Canada

There is a report that the body of late actress Moji Olaiya is still in a funeral home in Canada.
The actress' close friend, Yomi Fabiyi, took to Instagram on May 25, 2017, saying burial plans will be delayed as her body is yet to arrive.
The late Moji Olaiya
"To those reminding us about religious sentiments, we wish to state that after her demise, it took up to 3-4days before the AUTOPSY was finally concluded and body released by the government of Canada to the brother of the deceased and a friend of the industry Mr Yinka Farinde for burial. Body now with relevant funeral home.
Late Moji Olaiya and Yomi Fabiyi
The death certificate was issued yesterday and processing the entire necessary documentations for her smooth journey to Nigeria with the daughter had began in earnest. Two people from Canada had volunteered to escort the body and child to Nigeria and we are eternally grateful.
We do not wish to speculate. In few days we shall pass information regarding the exact arrival date and other burial plans. And we appeal against distracting comments, as the committee is trying as much as possible to avoid joining issues with any one publicly and we will not like when left with no other option than to respond. We ask for respect for all parties.
The committee will like to thank all members of the public especially her fans for your kind understanding and emotion extended to her family and friends at this trying period."
The remains of Moji Olaiya will be brought back to Nigeria by top Nigerian politician Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Moji Olaiya Ekiti govt blasts Foluke Daramola's husband over Moji Olaiya' burial

The Ekiti State Government has described the online publication claiming that the State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, promised to fund the freighting of Moji Olaiya's corpse from Canada to Nigeria, as misleading.

Premium Times reports that the Special Assistant to the State Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, made the disclosure in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Monday, May 22, condemning the comment made by a certain Olukayode Salako, claiming that Governor Fayose had declined a request to assist in freighting the Nollywood actress' corpse to Nigeria.
He said, “It is totally irresponsible on the part of the said Olukayode Salako, who is said to be the husband of Actress Foluke Daramola to have taken to the online media to disparage the person of the governor when even family members and genuine friends of the deceased are mourning her and seeking means of according her a befitting burial.”
The governor’s spokesperson maintained that there was no official communication between the governor and the family of the deceased.
He adds: “On Thursday, last week, I was contacted on phone by a journalist friend, Yomi Fabiyi, on the need for the Ekiti State Government to assist in raising a sum of $15,000 needed to bring Moji Olaiya’s corpse to Nigeria.
“My immediate response was that an official request, via a letter, should be made and that the letter will be presented to the governor.
"I gave him my email address to which I said the letter should be sent.
“On Friday, I informed the Chief of Staff to the governor, Chief Dipo Anisulowo of my telephone conversation with Yomi Fabiyi, and my response that official letter should be written to the governor.
“Up till today, the letter has not been sent and as such, no official request has been made to the State Government.
“When my attention was drawn to online publication that Governor Fayose had elected to fund the flying of the deceased corpse to Nigeria, I called the journalist who did the report and told him pointedly that no such decision was taken by the governor. It was on the strength of this that Mr Yomi Fabiyi issued a press statement on behalf of the Burial Committee, stating that no request had been made to the government of Ekiti State and the official letter requested was yet to be sent.
“It, therefore, beats our imagination that certain character like Olukayode Salako could take to the online media to make derogatory comments on the governor, purportedly on behalf of the family.
“While we condole with the Olaiya family of Ijesha Isu Ekiti, Moji Olaiya’s friends, fans and colleagues in the movie industry, we wish to advise that the family should saddle only responsible people with the task of according their daughter a befitting burial.”
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu
It was earlier reported that Governor Fayose had promised to freight Moji's corpse back to Nigeria.
The reports were later refuted by film maker, Yomi Fabiyi who is also the Publicity Secretary for the Nollywood actress' burial committee and family, in a post he shared on Instagram.
Fabiyi has however confirmed that the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has paid for the repatriation of the late Moji Olaiya's remains from Canada to Nigeria as he promised.

Nigerian music and its influence is growing tremendously, and Asa’s experience is just a result of it

 Image result for asa
For all our excitement about the growth of Nigerian music, we are still stuck to social media shout outs and more.
And sometimes, it all seems unreal and distant that our music, and the sounds that we produce within Nigeria is exported, shared and enjoyed organically by locals in other places.
The music as we create it, has great quality that can be enjoyed regardless of culture and tradition, and every day, new stories from ‘regular’ people show that the music is enjoying a healthy listeners outside traditional Nigerian and African fans.
Asa’s story is a great example of this. The singer lives in Paris, France, where she is signed to Naïve Records. And a story she shared during her performance at her ‘Asa Live In Lagos Encore’ concert is a great example of how much penetration and distribution our music has achieved.
Asa
According to Asa, she got into a taxi on a regular day which had an Chinese driver. In Paris, it is fairly normal for French speakers to confuse Nigeria with Niger Republic. And all the time they are corrected.
“So I get in the taxi and we begin to talk, and he asked me where I’m from. I told him and he said ‘Do you know Davido?’
“I told him yes.”
The driver began to talk about how he listens to the music and if Davido is from Niger. Asa cracked jokes about the DMW boss and how he is too rich to come from Niger. (She actually does have a point).
What this shows is that the music have travelled to a point where it is crossing boundaries finding new markets, and organically generating fans in France. France has historically shown Nigeria love. Earlier in April 2017, singer Yemi Alade kicked off “Mama Africa” tour in Paris, where she sold out the Le Trianon venue.

“Things have changed.” Asa said at her concert. “We’ve always been rich, we’ve always been grown.  But now doors are opening. People come and eat here. They need us. They need our sound.”
What Asa says is true. In the past two years, we have seen Nigeria become invaded by major labels seeking to sign up our artists and do business with the talents in the country. Sony Music Entertainment has Wizkid and Davido on their books. They are also distributing Ycee’s debut EP, “First Wave”. Universal Music is also in Nigeria, although their strategy is to sign unproven talents.

Why Apostle Suleman should go into acting, not preaching – Funmi Iyanda

Media Enterpreneur, Funmi Iyanda has reacted to claims by Apostle Suleman, that ancient Israelite King, David had many problems because his mother was a harlot.
In a video already gone viral online, the General Overseer who is currently entangled in sex scandal said during a sermon on Sunday that David was conceived out of sin and struggled till he died because his mother was a harlot and was not married to his father.
But while disagreeing with the controversial pastor, Funmi Iyanda said someone like Apostle Suleman would have abandoned preaching for acting , if only the creative industry had reached an advanced stage and fetching more money,
describing Suleman as ‘Alawada Kerikeri.’

On her twitter page @funmilola, she wrote: “If only you people will develop the creative industries well well,
“All these Alawada Kerikeri will leave politics and religion for feem ehn.”
