he date has been set for the funeral of the father of Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo.
Ighalo took to social media to announce the passing of his dad, Pa Paul Ighalo in the early hours of Monday, April 25.
The Watford striker later revealed that his father died in his sleep just days after he was treated in a hospital.
Pa Ighalo had complained of weakness before he was taken to the hospital.
Pulse Sports learnt that the striker will arrive the country during the next international break for the funeral.
The funeral will kick-off at the Ighalo family compound at number 58 Salami Street, Green Land area of Ajegunle, Lagos State before they travel to their village, Agidigbo Imadu in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.
Ighalo said he spoke to his father, just less than two days before he died and he prayed for him and his family.
“I spoke to him on Saturday, which is the normal routine between father and son. He prayed for me and my family,” the striker told Cable.
Ighalo will miss Super Eagles next game which is against the Zambia in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. His dad’s funeral will holds on Saturday, October 8 on the eve of the clash.
