A 41-year-old man, Rene Lopez, has been sentenced to 1,503 consecutive years in prison for repeatedly raping his daughter for several years, People Magazine reports.
The California, USA-born Lopez whose conviction is somewhat of an ignoble record, was found guilty on 186 felony counts of sexual assault, including 22 counts of rape of a minor, and was sentenced by California’s Fresno Superior Court.
According to court records, Lopez sexually assaulted his daughter, who is now 23, multiple times a week from May 2009 to May 2013.
Lopez was arrested in November 2013 after his daughter whom he says is his property, called police to report the abuse.
Lopez, during the trial, never showed any remorse and has been described as a serious danger to society.
The Fresno County Deputy District Attorney Nicole Galstansaid during the trial that Lopez’s daughter, who has not been publicly identified, was treated like the man’s 'piece of property' and used only to 'satisfy his sexual needs.'
The daughter also told the police that her father had impregnated her several times and paid for her to get abortions.
