Falz and Simi have released their joint project "Chemistry"EP.
The project which has been teased with numerous photos has finally been unveiled.
The pair have both worked on Simi’s ‘Jamb question’ and Falz’s ‘Soldier’ featuring Simi which was a spin-off to ‘Jamb question’. These songs which were well received formed the inspiration for this project.
“Falz and I do have great chemistry, it is music chemistry, we get along great, we are actually really close friends, so I guess it also helps when we make music”. the singer told Pulse in an interview.
Simi has released an initial EP, “Restless”, which consists of covers of foreign songs such as Beyonce’s ‘Halo’, Adele’s ‘Set fire to the rain’ and Drake’s ‘Marvin’s Room’ among others, where she changed the lyrics and stories of the songs to introduce her style of music, and released it as an independent project before joining X3M music.
The singer’s “Restless” EP helped get her signed to X3M music when the CEO of the label got hold of her cover of Drake’s ‘Marvin’s room’.
The vocalist on signing to X3M music broke out with a love single titled ‘Tiff’ in 2014 and she has since released other singles which has steadily gained her wider acceptance and recognition as a gifted singer and artiste.
The “Chemistry” EP serves as a precursor to her sophomore album which she said should drop this year 2016.
The album would follow her debut gospel album “Ogaju”, produced by Samklef which houses the popular song ‘Ara ile’.
