Manchester United would have signed Real Madrid midfielder Isco but snubbed him because of his big head.
Isco was named Man of the Match as Real Madrid beat Manchester United 2-1 to win the 2017 UEFA Super Cup title on Tuesday, August 8.
The midfielder would have been playing in Red Devils’ shirt if they had signed him when they had the opportunity in 2013.
According to ESPN, Manchester United kept tabs on Isco towards the end of Alex Ferguson’s era.
Isco was 21-year-old at that time and a senior Manchester United scout was sent to Spain to watch him several times.
The scout however decided against Manchester United signing the Spaniard after considering his head too large for his body.
“He's good, but not quite quick enough and his head is too big for his body," the scout said according to ESPN.
Real Madrid later came in to sign Isco from Malaga and the midfielder has been a success at the club.
He has won three Champions League titles, one La Liga, one Copa del Rey with Real Madrid.
